On the 17th of November it took place the public launch of the new TW animation series My Friend Boo healthy leaving strand in the framework of the 20th annual Congress of the European Childhood Obesity Group (ECOG 2010). Children across Europe will be introduced to the TV series My Friend Boo this autumn. The series, which has piloted a brand-new approach to public policy messaging on issues like health, will be broadcast on leading channels in over 19 European countries in 16 languages. The healthy living strand of the TV animated series has been created by the ACTIVE project and supported by the European Commission's HEALTH programme.

The city of Ballerup (Denmark), one of the 20 participating cities in Shape Up project is collaboration with the city of Granollers (Spain) in a new project based on IVAC methodology: Healthy Young Minds. Healthy Young Minds is a cross-cultural health project, dealing with the determinants of child obesity. The project is sponsored by Lifelong learning program Commenius Regio partnership.

The huge Europa im Klassenzimmer event, part of the European Year of Creativity and Innovation 2009, will take place on 5 May 2009 in the Museumsquartier in Vienna, Austria. Approximately 1,000 pupils and teachers are expected to participate.

We are sincerely convinced that the three year experience of the Shape Up Project represents a rich source of inspiration, ideas, training tools, school based methods and local case documentation. The aim of the new eTraining strategy tool is to transfer the Shape Up Project - what it is, what’s been done and learned during it’s course and – most importantly - how to do it in the most effective manner.
